Good Grief: Healing Through Art

I serve on the board of the Abington Senior Center in Clarks Summit and seniors have quite a few losses throughout the years,” Calvey said. “I was talking to Marylou about what we could do and that’s where I came up with an idea.”

That idea was to start the program, “Good Grief Art: Learn to Paint Through Your Loss” at the senior center. The semiannual 10-week oil painting class, now entering its seventh year, is aimed at adults who have experienced the loss of a loved one or pet. The mourners paint someone or something lost.
